Job Title: Telesales Activity Coordinator

Salary: £20,155.20 Per Annum

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Contracted hours: 40 hours per week (5 days out of 7)

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shift Pattern: 8.30am to 5pm with a 30 minute break for lunch.

Role Details:

The role of Telesales Activity Coordinator is an exciting role in which you will coordinate in house activities within telesales to drive sales. Launch new products successfully and maintain retention. Identify margin enhancement opportunities within product switching. Streamline activities within the department to initiate a robust plan for all occasions and execute plans using industry insights and knowledge.

Some responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Collaborate with the Trading, Sales & Marketing Teams to gain insight and understanding of industry and supplier initiatives to inform your project plans.
  • Liaise with the trading team and suppliers to book RARA’s for the telesales team, collaborate with suppliers on the day and obtain resources to continue to energise relevant activities throughout the promotional period.
  • Effectively plan, activate, promote, measure and successfully deliver promotional activities and events in collaboration with the Marketing Team.
  • Promote understanding of new product launches within the Telesales Team to ensure uptake and retention of new products and product categories and update and maintain the Telesales and Marketing activity planner.
  • Allocate and oversee weekly features and benefits sessions.
  • Develop industry knowledge, understanding and insight by developing close relationships within the Sales & Marketing team, wholesale group and industry insight and webinars and share this with the team.
  • Initiate activities and games to boost morale, motivation and drive sales.
  • Create and maintain ad-hoc, weekly, seasonal and category promotions and sales drives, obtain insight from relevant departments and share information with the team to help them deliver on project expectations.
  • Improve awareness of SIU promotions through competitions and challenges for customers and ensure all customer allocations are completed.
  • Motivate the team to continue to promote hashed and clearance product lines.
  • Report to the business the success of planned projects and initiative against set objectives.
  • Update and maintain the Telesales and Marketing activity planner.
  • Identify margin opportunities and set up projects including switch and save, product swapping and other margin enhancement activities.
  • Coach and mentor, the existing telesales and new joiners as part of their induction programme.
  • Effectively communicate events, promotions and PR projects. Share industry insight, videos from development chefs and other internal and external information sources with the telesales team and promote this activity on social media and other platforms that reach our customers.
  • Daily and weekly reports to inform activity planning, identify down-traders and individual product and category opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate:

We're looking for an extremely organised individual who is able to motivate the team to achieve targets and work collaboratively with other departments that has a strong desire to make a difference and go above and beyond for our customers.

It is essential that you have the following: 

  • Experience working within a telesales call floor, ideally gained within a foodservice environment.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and motivating a team of telesales executives.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, excellent telephone manner.
  • Good knowledge of the foodservice industry and an interest in understanding new insight.
  • A team player, with excellent interpersonal, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • A good level of English and Maths, excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • A good understanding and ideally a practical knowledge of how to incentivise and motivate a team.
  • The ability to use insight to inform decision making and develop innovative ideas.
