CALORIE LABELLING
Calorie labelling on menus are to be introduced in cafes, restaurants and takeaways from April 2022 in an attempt to tackle obesity and improve the nation’s health. The Saffron Wellbeing Portal will be able to show calorie and allergen information for products in a menu.
- Large businesses will be required to display calorie information on menu and food labels from April 2022.
- Applies to business with 250 or more employees in England, including cafes, restaurants and takeaways displaying non-prepacked food and soft drink items that are prepared for customers.
- The main aim is to ensure people are able to make more informed, healthier choices when it comes to eating food out or ordering takeaways.

What Is The
WELLBEING PORTAL?
The Saffron Wellbeing Portal will be your unique, customisable URL, providing a customer-friendly way of demonstrating allergen and nutritional information of your dishes, to help support your business with the new calorie legislation. The portal displays a live allergen profile of each dish, with additional dietary information in an easy-to-read format.
Fully Customisable
AVAILABLE MENUS
You have the option to display fully-customisable menus, by having a main page including individual buttons which link to your menu’s in Saffron, as well as the option to include your own logo.
Total Calories Feature
ADD TO MY MEAL
This feature allows the end-consumer to add the items of their meal to a ‘basket’. This is where they can see a total value of the calories and other nutritional information added together.
