Depots & Operational Capability
Our strategically located multi-temperature distribution centres in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Ilkeston, Derbyshire and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire offer national coverage across the UK to our foodservice customers in the out of home marketplace.
In 2014, we made significant investment in state of the art Voice Picking technology in our Ilkeston depot to improve order accuracy levels across over 5,700 different products. Since implementation, productivity increased by 20%, picking accuracy has increased to 99.9%, plus the operations team now have greater visibility and traceability of picking performance and goods-in service levels, all positively impacting the service level we offer to our customers.
Our ‘real time’ stocking system gives our telesales teams and our online ordering customers full visibility of items stocked or out of stock at the point of ordering, offering customers the opportunity to select alternative products if required, and assurance that we are able to fulfil the rest of their order and dispatch it.
Each of our depots are externally accredited to the highest level with BRC and STS accreditations.
Fleet & Technology
Unlike some suppliers to chefs and catering managers, we’re delighted to offer a ‘One Stop Shop’ enhanced customer service experience by delivering all multi-temperature foodservice supplies on the same order and vehicle. Over the years we have developed our fleet to meet our customers’ requirements, whether an articulated lorry for very large multi-temperature deliveries, all the way down to local sprinter vans to offer us the flexibility of delivering to areas impacted by the ever increasing restrictions on our roads. We even have some of our fleet design ideas generated by our drivers to assist when completing roadside deliveries on those busy high streets.
Our entire commercial fleet has in-cab technology to assist our drivers in locating destinations and route mapping with an emphasis on optimising fuel efficiency allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint year on year.
In addition, the transport and customer service teams at the depots have full visibility of where the delivery vehicle is on its route to you, this allows us to keep you fully informed of potential delays or restrictions outside of our control, such as heavily congested traffic.
