Providing Support & Employment
We signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2015, to show our support for the UK’s armed forces community. Signing the corporate covenant marked our recognition of the value that serving regular and reservist personnel, veterans and military families contribute to businesses and the UK. The company aims to offer employment, where possible, to ex-servicemen and women and support any reservists. Over the years (including prior to the signing the covenant) we have been and continue to be proud to provide employment to ex-servicemen and women.
In addition to signing the covenant, we also:
- Encourage partner organisations and suppliers to join the corporate covenant scheme
- Publish our covenant in our depots, and throughout our literature, to promote the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation
- Aim to actively promote the Armed Forces Day and Reserves Day via social media channels
- Take into account the military commitments of any spouse or member of the armed forces, when reviewing requests for flexible hours to suit their needs
- Support any employee who chooses to be a member of the Reserve forces, by accommodating their training requirements by re-arranging working hours and providing extended periods of leave when required.
“We were pleased to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and continue to be proud to be an armed forces-friendly company. Putting our name to the covenant underlines the deep commitment within the business community to better support those who have bravely served their country, and for their families.”
Chris Creed, CEO
