INTRODUCTION

Founded in 2000, CMC (also known as Catering Management Consultants), aims to provide all children with a healthy lunch, believing that it is the key to giving them a great start in life. To do this, CMC works alongside schools assisting and educating chefs throughout the process of bringing catering in house, by providing advice and expertise. Creed and CMC have been in partnership for over five years, with Creed being a one-stop-shop supplier for all their catering needs, being able to supply an extensive range of products through fresh, frozen, ambient and non-food categories.

Passion For Healthy Eating

THE CHALLENGE

Ensuring that children receive nourishing meals throughout the day holds great value throughout a child’s development. As a company, Creed has recognised this and partnered with CMC on utilising their shared passion for healthy and nutritious eating. Setting out to promote this message across CMC schools. The overall aim of this project was to promote and educate students on the importance of eating healthy, whilst raising awareness of Creed and our vast offering of over 6,000 quality products; including an extensive range of frozen food items, and their added element of convenience such as a reduction in preparation time and minimising food waste.

CMC Competition

THE SOLUTION

To engage with students and promote the healthy eating message, Creed developed a competition with CMC which was communicated through regular emailers, social media posts and the CMC consultants, who informed the schools. The competition invited primary and secondary children across the UK, who attend CMC partnered schools, to draw a new food-inspired design around the theme of ‘What does healthy eating mean to you?’. Launched in May 2021, over 200 entries were received, and were whittled down to just two talented winners, with a team from both Creed and CMC voting for their favourite. The winning drawings were then wrapped onto a Creed lorry, with one drawing placed
each side.

The newly designed Creed lorry was unveiled at a prizegiving ceremony at each of the winning student’s schools, where the budding artists saw their designs displayed on the lorry and they were personally awarded their prizes. This included the students receiving a new tablet, along with their schools benefitting from a £250 Back-to-School order from Creed Foodservice. The design will remain on the vehicle for the 2021/22 academic year. During the prize giving Phil Vickery MBE, former England Rugby Champion, Celebrity MasterChef winner and Creed Non-Executive Director, and Rob Owen (Creed Executive Development Chef), gave a talk to the students, explaining the importance of healthy eating, and led an interactive activity identifying several types of fruits and vegetables, to educate and instil the values of healthy eating.

As a company, Creed can offer a vast supply of quality produce, aiding schools in their mission to bring catering in house with ease, streamlining their mission by being a one stop supplier to cover all their needs, with the addition of great customer service. Creed understands the value that eating healthy plays in a child’s health and hopes to continue doing more to support children with healthy meals in the future.
Not only does this highlight the importance of allergies but gives allergy sufferers confidence in the food that they buy and safeguards many people.
