A fresh salad is the perfect menu item for the summer months, whether it’s as a starter to main meals, a light bite, or a side dish. A well put together salad can be a great way to impress customers, without requiring too much time to put together. Our Development Chefs have created some delicious salad recipes which are a great addition to summer menus. These salads will be a great opportunity to use seasonal ingredients and offer an opportunity to tie in international flavours.

With the cold winter months behind us and warmer weather on the horizon. We see much more locally grown produce coming into season over the next few months, now it the perfect time to incorporate this fresh produce onto spring menus.
With the harsh winter soon to be behind us we are now looking onwards to spring days. We have once again put together a monthly guide of what fruits and vegetables are in season this month.
With the first month of the year already behind us, we look forward to February for a new array of seasonal produce. Buying fresh produce when it is in season, means that not only will it be fresher and of better quality, but also tastier and more nutritious. Foods that are in season contain the nutrients and minerals that our bodies need at that time of the year.
Obesity rates in reception and year 6-aged school children increased by around 4.5 percentage points between 2019-20 and 2020-21 according to NHS records (2021). Child obesity is a growing issue within the UK, it is extremely important that children have a healthy childhood and are educated on the importance of eating healthy.
