Independent delivered wholesale company, Creed Foodservice is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its depot in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

With its headquarters in Gloucestershire, Creed’s first distribution hub outside of the county was opened to support the company’s expansion in the Midlands and the North.

Today Creed’s Ilkeston distribution centre is a state-of-the-art multi-temperature storage location, employing 137 people and stocking more than 5000 ambient, chilled, frozen and non-food lines. It is the main hub depot serving not only Creed Foodservice’s other depots at Staverton in Gloucestershire and High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire but many of the wholesaler’s national customers, including deliveries going into Scotland from the site.

Thirty-one vehicles operate from the Ilkeston depot, ranging from vans to temperature-controlled lorries. By delivering multi-temperature orders to customers on one vehicle, Creed can reduce the food miles that would otherwise be incurred by delivering categories on individual vehicles. Creed takes its CSER commitments and activity as well as its environmental credentials seriously, with the Ilkeston depot also being a Zero-to-Landfill site.
