We have recently been confirmed as National Trust’s foodservice partner of choice for the next five years. The news came after a comprehensive tender process spanning several months.

Our family-owned wholesale business, which employs a 330 strong workforce at our Gloucestershire, Derbyshire and Buckinghamshire distribution centres, will service every National Trust site that offers a tea room, café or restaurant facility across the country.

We share similar values and ethos with the National Trust, and one of the key reasons we successfully retained the notable contract is a shared focus on people. Both Creed and the Trust successfully recruit people who truly believe in what their respective organisations stand for.

The hard work that all our staff put in and the service levels consistently delivered, hugely contributed to the National Trust regarding us as a valuable and extremely reliable partner.

Rob Owen, our Executive Development Chef has developed a great working relationship with Clive Goudercourt, Development Chef for the National Trust.

The Trust has a well-defined and very specific product sourcing criteria which all suppliers and products must meet. Rob has a clear understanding of this which enables him to work with Clive to select appropriate ingredients for the Trust and through careful sourcing bring innovation and creativity to existing menus.

Key to the execution of the Trust’s catering strategy is its very own back of house ‘Cookbook’. Rob supports the development of some of the dishes, which are then practiced, trialled and photographed at regional training days held with the Trust’s regional trainers. This often takes place in Creed’s very own Development Kitchen at Creed’s head office facility in Cheltenham.

This Chef to Chef approach has been instrumental in driving compliance to the Trust’s catering strategy and the Trust has achieved Soil Association’s Food for Life catering mark at 140 of its places.

In addition to chef collaboration and menu development, as a trusted partner Creed adds value and supports the National Trust wherever possible. A good example of this is the assistance we gave during BBC Countryfile Live last year. Creed supported the supply chain and loaned the National Trust an 18 tonne chilling facility for use at the event! This year our support extends, with Creed staff taking an active role and attending the event for event support.
